Using Liver For Treats – The Possible Dangers.

Using dried liver for treats is dangerous in the long run. Liver itself is the powerhouse organ of the raw feeding community – it’s packed in iron and vitamin A. Long term, hemochromatosis and hypervitaminosis A can result and the side effects are irreversible. .

Walk into any pet store, you’ll see one or two pound bags of dried liver, yes dogs love them. Owners and trainers alike are feeding these little nuggets without the knowledge that they should have.

The picture shows my 10 pound Miniature Pinscher’s daily allowance of liver – and he’s currently raw fed. That’s a dime for comparison.
