@CabralDogs keep bringing the videos, you’re making this too easy. If you would stop LYING and blaming B.F Skinner? And actually bring Konrad Most to the forefront? Be honest for once? I wouldn’t be doing this. But you can’t anymore – it’s too far gone, the lies are catching up to you. I have words for the lot of you. It’s Schutzhund that is fully responsible for shelters being full of dogs. It’s Schutzhund that’s responsible for all the euthanasia – and positive reinforcement is the worst. Didn’t get the joke of why I reacted to your shelter video eh? Oh but I loved your vicious response – then deleted it. The ego on you.
Schutzhund to be banned in Australia? I see this as a good thing to be honest, this whole house of cards built by Schutzhund dog trainers needs to crash and reset.
What Robert and others call “dog training” is Schutzhund. Balanced training is Schutzhund. Positive Reinforcement is part of Schutzhund. So why is Robert Cabral consistently saying “it’s US versus THEM”? US is THEM – that’s the lie but dog owners as a result – being so heavily vested in PR or balanced are ripping each other to shreds in the dog training venues. Why? Why do you want owners fighting? Does it turn you on? You must be a sadist to be able to watch the outcome of your words – and keep pushing it?
Narcissism in dog training? Dog training is crawling with narcissism.
Funny how people tend to start by using “positive reinforcement” cause hey – it’s the good one right? No, Positive Reinforcement – when it fails is a springboard into balanced training – Schutzhund. The treats didn’t work – lets try another tool. Dog trainers have turned dog owners into gamblers – just like Skinner was doing in a lab.
Owners – who are supposed to be the “the highest value treat” for their dog? Looking for the highest value treat – that jackpot reward that never comes. Then it’s the prong. Then it’s the e-collar. Start with vibrate, that doesn’t work – it’s only a bit of shock – feels like a 10’s machine. But keep turning it up – look for that jackpot reward that never comes. Euthanasia becomes that highest value reward in the end – the jackpot that fixes everything. And trainers keep pushing people to pony up, to keep gambling. Pigeon Superstition galore.
Schutzhund has invaded everything dog – and the worst is – they invaded the behavioural ring with dogs. That’s why it’s not allowed in our facebook group. Why? Cause that’s where the money really is. Don’t believe me? How did this happen? This is why we see Chihuahua’s running around with a neck full of tools. Schutzhund for behaviour. Working really well right? And owners are screaming “why isn’t this working”? Why indeed.
@IvanBalabanov is honest about it? He says that ONLY people like him should be working with behaviours. Why don’t people see this? Go ask your trainer do define WHAT a behaviour is. You’ll probably get a stupid look in response.
I’ve been following dog training in the different facebook and internet venues for near 15 years. And I’ve been watching the gradual takeover in that time. 15 years ago, we used to have great conversations. Trainers actually asked “why is the dog doing this”? Why is the dog acting this way? Today, they could care less. The very science of behaviour has been thrown in the garbage. Why does Robert blame B.F Skinner? Cause there is actual science to Skinner. Blame Skinner knowing that dog owners won’t verify – so they can hide the FATHER of Schutzhund in plain sight. Why? Cause there is no money in understanding causes – owners can do that without a trainer. Some trainers talk about the cause – make it sound great – but they don’t address the cause.
Positive Reinforcement IS a part of Schutzhund. Has anyone noticed how Positive Reinforcement trainers are working together with Schutzhund? It’s all about stopping behaviour, shut down behaviour. How can people not see this? You can do it quickly with tools or a treat.
15 years ago, treats were a use it and lose it. 15 years later, always have a treat bag on your side. And it’s in everything. Have a treat! Worst thing you can do to a dog.
15 years ago, e-collars and prongs were a last resort. 15 years later, it’s an insurance policy – always leave it on. With so many trainers — every dog gets an e-collar AND a prong – no exceptions. Where is the skill? Push a button, crank and yank on a prong. Where is the skill in doing any of this?
Dog training has failed miserably. Owners are being blamed. Dogs are being blamed. How dare you blame the dog trainer or the system? Shut up! Pay me! And kill your dog while you’re at it. You can’t hide forever. You can’t ignore forever. It’s only a matter of time 😀
